Russell Crowe`s favourite place
The Australian actor, who is the 2,404th star to appear on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said at its unveiling on Monday (12.04.10) he loves his job for the affect it has on people long after he has finished filming.
Speaking outside the Kodak Theatre, he said: "There`s no place I would rather be other than with my family than on a movie set - on a feature film - particularly in the first few days when that excitement and freshness is still there.
"A long time ago on a particularly arduous day on a movie set, covered in mud in the rain, Australian actor Brian Brown said to me, `The best thing about our job mate, is that they always finish`, and as much as I have had my moments on film sets over the years where that little fact has actually bought me some relief, the great irony is that the job may finish but the work continues on.
"I still occasionally get to speak to people on a sidewalk about a movie I made 20 years ago."
The 46-year-old actor has a number of movies in the pipeline - with May seeing the release of his latest epic ?Robin Hood? with Cate Blanchett and Mark Strong.
However, contrary to the typical image of the titular character in tights, Russell recently claimed there will be no hosiery in the latest version of the story.
He said: "There are no tights in this film. They weren`t invented until quite a few hundred years after when the story takes place. We start our story in 1199. Tights don`t come into play until the 1600s. I do apologize of those who will be disappointed that there are no tights."
